Who we are

This website belongs to the Soheir Elmansy Foundation (مؤسسة سهير المنسي), which is in formation. Until the foundation is established, the site is operated by its founders, who are responsible for your information.

When the foundation is established, we will update this policy with its legal name and registered address. You can reach us at any time at .

No tracking

We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or any third-party scripts on this website.

Our fonts are hosted with the site itself, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font service when you visit. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we never sell or share information for marketing.

What you type into our tools

Our tools, such as the second-opinion file and the questions for the care team, save what you type only in your own browser, using its local storage on your device. This lets you close the page and come back later.

What you type into the tools is never sent to us. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you.

You can delete it at any time with the “Clear” button in each tool, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. If you use a shared or public computer, please clear the tool when you finish.

Cookies

We use one cookie. It is called “locale”, and it remembers whether you chose English or Arabic, so the site opens in your language next time. It lasts for one year and contains nothing else.

This cookie is needed for the site to work the way you asked, so we do not show a cookie banner. You can delete it in your browser settings at any time.

Technical logs

Like almost every website, this site runs on cloud servers, in our case provided by Amazon Web Services. When you visit, these servers keep standard technical logs: your IP address, your browser type, the page you asked for and the time.

We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working properly. They are kept for a short period and then deleted.

When you email us

If you write to us at , we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. This may include health information about you or a relative. We treat it with care:

  • We use it only to reply to you and to try to help.
  • We never share anything with a specialist without asking you first. We ask for your explicit consent each time, for each introduction.
  • We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
  • We delete your messages when you ask us to.

Your email passes through our email provider, which stores it for us so that we can read and answer it.

Health information

Health information is sensitive. Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) treats health data as sensitive personal data, and so do data protection laws in many other countries. We handle it with extra care.

Please do not send full medical records until we ask for them. A short description is enough to start.

If you are writing about a relative, please get their permission first where possible. If they cannot give permission, for example because they are unconscious, share only what is needed to ask for help.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete your information.
  • Stop using your information, or use it in a more limited way.

Visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom have these rights under data protection law (the GDPR and UK GDPR), including the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. We will honour these rights for everyone, wherever you live. To use them, write to .

Children

This website is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 16. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Services we are planning

We are planning more ways to support families. None of them are live yet:

  • A request service that matches families with volunteer doctors. It will store the requests that families send us.
  • AI assistants that answer questions about intensive care.
  • Support by WhatsApp and by SMS (text message).

Today, none of these services are live. Apart from the emails you choose to send us, we do not store any requests or health information.

Before any of these services launch, we will update this policy. We will explain what we collect and why, where it is stored, who processes it, and how long we keep it. We will ask for your explicit consent before collecting any health information.

Some services involve other companies. Messages sent by WhatsApp are also processed by WhatsApp (part of Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy. Text messages are also handled by telecom providers.

The AI assistants will not be used to make decisions about anyone. When they launch, we will tell you clearly whether any conversations are read or reviewed by people.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date at the top. We will update it when the foundation is established, and before we ever start collecting any new kind of information.
